Letters from my desk
Every second week, I write a short letter to the people who read my work.
Some letters hold a reflection on marriage or family life. Some hold a memory of Durban, a question I’m turning over, or news from my writing desk. They are written the way I would write to a friend: unhurried, honest, and without anything to sell you.
My readers also hear my news first. When there is something to share about my books or upcoming gatherings, it goes to my letters before it goes anywhere else.
A gift when you join
When you sign up, I’ll send you a short story from my unpublished collection as a welcome gift.
I’ll only use your email address to send you my letters. You can unsubscribe at any time with the link at the bottom of every email.
What happens next
You’ll receive an email asking you to confirm your subscription. Please click the link inside it, otherwise the letters can’t reach you. If it doesn’t arrive within a few minutes, check your spam or promotions folder and search for “What WayD Says”.
Once you’re on the list, feel free to reply to any letter. I read every reply, and it helps make sure my emails land in your inbox rather than your spam folder.
Waheeda
