FAQs
What is counseling?
Counseling is essentially Talking Therapy which allows a person to talk or vent about their problems in a safe and confidential way. A counselor is trained to listen with empathy and can guide you to deal with any negative thoughts you may have.
Do I need counseling?
If you answer YES to any of these questions, investing in counseling now may benefit you more than you know!
- Do you feel overwhelmed and stressed out?
- Do you feel lonely and despondent?
- As a mother, do you feel conflicted after giving birth?
- As a mother, are you wondering where the OLD you is gone and what the NEW you will look like?
- As a new mother, did you give more thought to your birth plan and not enough thought to your postnatal plan?
Do you take medical aid?
My practice is a cash practice. I am not currently registered with any medical aid.
How many sessions do I need?
For individual counseling, this depends entirely on YOU. The aim of counseling is to empower you so that you do not have to rely on long-term counseling. Ideally, 3 to 6 sessions with a counselor should get you on your way to proceed by yourself.
My Postnatal Wellness Coaching programme is a 6-week programme and, ideally, should be completed as a package in order to gain the most benefit from it.
Where are you based?
I currently only offer Online Counseling and have not yet set up base anywhere specific. Although I am based in Durban, my clients may be from anywhere in South Africa!
